“Southwold Lighthouse”
This twist on a “Mott & Mulberry” (named after an intersection in NYC) features our Adnams 9yo ex Sauternes Cask in place of spicy American Rye Whiskey. We think it’s delicious and a perfect Autumn / Winter cocktail. Give it a go:
30ml Adnams 9yo
30ml Benedictine (or Amaro / Chartreuse / Cynar)
30ml English Cider (Ideally from Suffolk)
10ml Lemon Juice
10ml Maple Syrup (or Demerara sugar syrup)
Shake all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker over ice. Strain & pour into a tumbler. Garnish with thinly sliced apple on a skewer over the glass. Perfection!

Having known Southwold better for Broadside & Ghost Ship it was a pleasant surprise to try this fabulous whisky. Very smooth and delicate caramel taste followed by a delightful warming - this was a very easy drinkable whisky, maybe a bit too easy! Definitely a good idea to diversify towards whisky with such a good name in the brewing industry. From my days of playing rugby on the pitch next to the brewery I would have enjoyed a dram before and after the match, but unfortunately whiskey was not available then..... Good taste, colour and aroma - one to keep stock of.
A sublime dram. I read it was the perfect Christmas whisky and it certainly didn't disappoint.
One of the best whiskys I've had this year.
A perfect dram for Christmas, I shall be treating myself to another one soon
